Join a wonderful drama opportunity and help support PFA
The Shepherds, a long time PFA family, has run faith based drama presentation for many years, and has offered to bring this opportunity to PFA. These are quality, uplifting shows done in more of a readers theater style, which opens it up to those who do not see themselves as skilled actors. Rehearsal will start on Friday, March 17, to be ready for the performance the beginning of May. This is open to home school student outside of PFA, as room allows.See the details below.
PFA Fundraiser Drama Presentations
We will concurrently work on two presentations to support Pioneer Family Academy Day School. These will be practiced at the same time and performed on the same day. Practices will be held every Friday 10-1 (with a few exceptions). We will prepare approximately ten weeks in addition to the final week of dress rehearsal and performance. Due to the fast paced schedule – all practices are mandatory unless previously conflicted out and approval given by directors before start of practices. Younger students may be shorter depending on size and age of final cast.
All students that wish to be involved in this program will be given a speaking part to be determined after the first practices. Junior High students will be placed in one of the presentations.
Placement to be determined by directors.
First Grade through Junior High
We will perform the book of Mark with storytelling through Scripture recitations and dramatic interludes concluding with a whole cast song. This drama is a wonderful opportunity for students to ‘live out’ the gospel of Mark. Students will be in time period costumes. Performance is Approximately 30-40 minutes.
Junior High through High School
Students will tell the story of five missionary men that were martyred in Ecuador by the Auca people. It is a story of men who exampled living for Christ ‘Even Unto Death’. This story is presented through dramatic narration in a formal presentation. Audience will laugh, cry and be challenged as they see these men and their wives answer God’s call for their lives no matter the cost. This drama will not only impact the audience, it can also be a life changing experience for the student. This program requires deep commitment for the students. Works best with 10 – 12 students.
The directors are committed to discipline each student through this process. We feel every child should be given an opportunity to do their best and a chance to succeed. We look forward to having fun, laughing, learning and creating memories together!
Please feel free to contact the directors if you have any specific questions. We would love to have your students with us!
