Born in 1963, in Aurora, Illinois, the second of three boys to German immigrants. I Graduated from High School in 1981 from Kaneland High School. Worked as a Dispensing Optician, then moved to California in 1983 to attend the Lutheran Bible Institute where I met and later married my wife of 31 years, Cynthia Eckert. I attended Christ College Irvine, graduating with a BA in Religion in 1988. A few months later, the first of our four children were born. After working many different jobs, my family and I moved to Minnesota to be near the mission society that we wished to be missionaries with. We also spent ten years in Bolivia as missionaries. In 1993, my wife and I worked mainly with street people and the college age youth of our home church and then came home to Northern California where we reside in San Jose. I am currently pursuing Theological training to become a pastor.

One of his favorite Bible verses is:

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
