JD was born in Arizona, but moved to California at a young age where he soon afterwards met and became friends with the girl he would eventually marry.  JD always had a passion for teaching, especially young adults.  His love for the sciences and communication comes second to his love for the Bible.

JD has been married to Anna (that girl he met a long, long, long time ago) for 12 years now. They have two children, both adopted from Nigeria, who also attend PFA.  JD spends most of his time at his church where he leads the High School ministry in addition to teaching weekly home bible studies and leading a Christian club at West Valley College.

If you find JD not at a church function nor at school, he will most likely be at a local fishing spot with his daughters.
